I’ve never understood the concept of ‘growth at all costs’ and I’ve never been a proponent of getting big just to be able to say that your company is, well …. big. Every company doesn’t have to be a multi-million dollar enterprise, or even a million dollar money maker to be successful. Not every entrepreneur wants to be the next big name in business or run a multi-national corporation from a corner office. Some do. Some don’t. And each and every one of them is right.

Bigger isn’t always the best strategy. Organizing a business as a sole proprietorship is a choice, not a sin, and wanting it to be, and stay, home-based or run with only a handful of employees is far from heresy. Unleashing the Entrepreneur Within means looking inside to assess your strengths, identifying a corresponding market need and then developing a business plan that marries the two successfully … and in a way that meets your needs and goals.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ strategy or how-to book that contains a single ‘fool-proof plan’. What works, or worked, for someone else … worked for someone else. Learn from what they did or didn’t do, but keep in mind that it’s your business, your company, and your life. Take ownership and make it exactly what YOU want it to be. …. Lori.
